Rania Hassan

“we are all connected somehow”

Bio:
Rania Hassan lives in Washington DC. Her favorite color is green. She is quite fond of pirates and spends a lot of time imagining what the world would be like if everthing were upside down.
Rania likes to experiment with different mediums in her work. Recently she has been a little obsessed with her print Gocco machines, knitting, and painting, so she has been working on methods to combine the three.

Statement:
I am fascinated by the connections we find in our everyday experiences: from the isolation of communities on the subway, to the solitary experience of introspection, to the feelings of deep communion. How do we think of our place in this world? How do we fit in it?
My work is about the levels of connectedness we feel. I paint, draw, and knit to represent moments of these feelings.
