Caroline Hatem

Caroline Hatem was born in Beirut in 1976. In parallel to obtaining a Masters in Philosophy, she has trained and performed as a dancer and an actor in Lebanon, the United States and France, where she resides at the moment.

This is a text I wrote while in Beirut in July 2006, when my worst nightmare came true: the war was back. On a daily basis, I was recording, as time passed by, my revolt and pain. Also, my hopes of becoming a happy, active person in a welcoming environment were doomed. It seemed that all I had strived for since my teenage years and the past war was overthrown. The text enlarges the scope and tries to explore a general attitude in life, when one is caught up with History and must heal from all mourning.
