Amanda Riffo

Amanda Riffo was born in 1977. She currently lives and works in Paris, France. In 2002, she received her diploma from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris. She has also studied in Tokyo at the Musashino Art University and at the Academie Libanaise des Beaux Arts in Beirut. In 2002 she participated in the exhibition Regards Croisés held at the Centre Culturel Français in Beirut and in several exhibitions in Europe and Asia.

"Pierre"

The trajectory of the rock I threw in the air this summer could be captured in a succession of photographs as it rose and fell. I chose to take only one picture to stop its movement, in both space and time.

This stone can make people think of many references , but, in my case, the fact that I threw this stone was only visual; the levitating object makes me think of an extinguished star seen during the daytime.
