Rana Bishara was born and raised in Tarsheha in northern Palestine
in 1971. She has been living and working in the U.S.A since 2001.
Bishara uses installation, drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking
to express her personal political statement.
Bishara earned her Bachelor degree in painting and a Minor degree
in women studies and philosophy from Haifa University, in Israel.
She also holds a Masters in Painting from the Savannah College of
Art and Design in Savannah G.A, U.S.A, as a Fulbright Scholar.
Her artwork has been shown in important solo and group shows nationally
and internationally. She has exhibited in Palestine, Switzerland,
Jordan, Morocco, Spain, Austria, United States of America, Norway,
Sweden, Israel, Poland and Germany.
Bishara is a recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship, and has taken
part in several artist-in-residency programs. These programs include
the Xanadu* Residency Program (NYC), Darat Al-Funun Summer Academy
(Jordan) Pro-Helvetia (Switzerland) and Art Omi International Arts
Center (New York).
Her installation artwork Blindfolded History is currently on display
in Begren Hall Gallery, in the Savannah College of Art and Design,
Savannah, GA. The installation is also featured in the group show,
Made in Palestine.
