Began dancing a the age of three and a half and now is a proud member
of Savion Glover’s TiiDii, most recently featured in imprography
at the Joyce Theatre in New York City as well as the opening ceremony
of the Cannes Film Festival 2001, Cannes, France, the Jerry Lewis
Telethon, and the 2002 Winter Olympics Arts Festival in Salt Lake
City, Utah, and the 2002 Nijinsky Awards in Monaco.
Mr. Nemr was also a member of Savion Glover’s Washington D.C.
Crew and a founding member of Real Tap Skills (RTS), Mr. Glover’s
first all male tap group performing at venues such as The Kennedy
Center for the Performing Arts, Concert Hall in Washington, D.C.,
The Strand Theatre in Boston, MA, with Ghetto Originals and STOMP,
The Koger Theatre in Columbia, SC, and The Delacorte Theatre and
The Apollo Theatre in New York City, NY.
Mr. Nemr has been a featured soloist in many venues including Showcase
of Stars at the PNC Bank Arts Center, NJ; in Vaudeville 2000 at
La MaMa, Etc, NY; at the annual National Tap Dance Day Tap Extravaganza
at Town Hall Theatre, NY; in Dance Attacks, at Teddy’s, Williamsburg,
Brooklyn; and in East Meets West with Kuni Makami at the Blue Note
Jazz Club, NY. He was also a guest teacher and performer in TAP
2000 and TAP 2001 at the Bloomsbury Theatre, London, England and
at Tap City 2003, The New York City Tap Festival, at The Duke Theater,
New York City, NY. In support of the Jazz Foundation of America,
Mr. Nemr performed in A Great Night in Harlem alongside Clark Terry,
Jimmy Heath, James Carter and John Faddis at the Apollo Theatre
in New York City, NY. Most recently Mr. Nemr performed in La Nuit
Du Hip Hop in Grenoble, France as part of World Soul.
Mr. Nemr has been blessed to receive the guidance of many of the
great tap dancers including Eddie Brown, Dr. Jimmy Slyde, James
“Buster” Brown, LeRoy Myers, Ernest “Brownie”
Brown, Henry “Phace” Roberts, Dr. Henry LeTang, Marble
Lee, Tina Pratt, Barbara Duffy, Dianne Walker, Savion Glover, Ted
Levy, and Gregory Hines.
Mr. Nemr holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Computer Art from The
School of Visual Arts, New York City. He may be found performing
at Showmans Café and the Lenox Lounge in New York City. Mr.
Nemr also teacher regularly at Broadway Dance Center, New York City.
